Recommendations

Here are our top essential products and recommendations that we personally use with Jill (our 70-pound, 1.5-year-old Bernedoodle!). These are tried and true, and will detail both the good and bad! Let me be clear, I am NOT a stylish person at all… have never been, and never will be. These are all pretty budget-friendly and do the job well. Functionality and comfort over style for the win!

HOWEVER, when it comes to nutrition, we DO NOT skimp out. We do our best to feed her high-quality ingredients and food, so take whatever you wish from the list below! There are SO many great options for everything, these are just in our current rotation.

Mostly everything is from Amazon, with a few exceptions. We LOVE the Costco dog bed, and the Walmart leash is too cheap and has lasted us too long not to add! Everything on this list is tried and true, I would never put anything that we don’t use on a regular basis!

This list will be the first to know when I start adding more/change recommendations!

Our dog recommendations

Dog Essentials

These are all products that we RARELY replace. We bought great quality, durable products to begin with and have never looked back! Even when it comes to the poop bags, the box that we buy lasts us at least 2 years, are decent quality (not paper thin, like some I have used before!), and are extremely affordable for what you get.

Dog Leash (Good Amazon Alternative we used before and works great!)
Dog Collar
No-Pull Dog Harness
Poop Bags

Dog Living Essentials

These are what we place in our living spaces. I must say though, they definitely do not look too great. However, they get the job done!

The car seat has been THROUGH IT, and it still stands today. We regularly take her on walks and to the dog beach. We LOVE that thing, for both the sake of my car seat and for Jill’s safety.

Dog Nutrition

Our current routine includes half kibble and half Farmer’s Dog fresh food. The kibble is soaked in dog-safe bone broth or water, with our current joint supplement and some kefir (which you can find at any local grocery store)!

We give her chews almost every day for at most 20 minutes because she has a sensitive stomach. She LOVES them and gets really tired afterward. Gotta make sure she gets her chew time in every day!

Dog Grooming

We do most of our own grooming and take her to get professionally groomed about 2-3 times a year. We are looking into doing EVERYTHING in-house, once we’re able to get a house with a big laundry room. 🙂

Since we have a poodle mix, we brush her EVERY DAY, or at least 2-3 times per week… life happens. We use the detangling hair brush, with detangling spray (which smells wonderful). We also try to brush her teeth once a day.

On the days when she gets a full bath, we clean her eats, clip her nails, shave her paws, and then give her a bath. She is NOT a fan of the hair dryer, so we just wipe her with towels and let her air dry. We then put the dog paw balm on, and let her rest. That whole process is quite chaotic for us and tiring for her. She is a fan of water, but not baths!

There you go, these are all of our recommendations! Hope you get to check some of these out, they really are all items we use on a daily/weekly basis!
